Rags to Riches – Adopted

These horses have found their forever homes after being rescued. The horses that get adopted out are ones that did not fit in the program or were much happier with a one on one owner rather than being worked with by multiple different people.

Sterling

Sterling on his adoption day

Sterling was sold to a zoo in Wisconsin from a zoo in Florida. He was abused in the zoo’s and did not have much human contact as he was primarily used for breeding. He came to Jessica from the zoo in Wisconsin. He was really scared of humans and needed a strong, confident person to work with him. Sterling is very sensitive to loud noises and is more of a one person horse. He was unbroke to ride and Jessica spent 1.5 years getting him desensitized before he went to training with Dion prior to going to his adopted home.

Sparrow

Sparrow now

Sparrow came to Eden Healing Center from a place of neglect in southern Florida. He is smaller than your average Arabian due to malnourishment. He was adopted out and still is part of the Eden family but not longer used for the program. Sparrow has such a long backstory that you can click on any of the images above to learn more about him.

Diva (SOH A DIVA DHA)

Diva and Kaylin
Diva today
Diva when she first arrived

Diva used to be an Arabian halter show horse and then a broodmare. She ended up in a neglectful situation prior to coming to Eden. Diva’s adopter first saw Diva with Toby due to them living at the same place prior to Jessica’s. After Toby passed Jessica offered Kaylin to ride Diva and she said yes. Toby and Diva were besties. After Toby died, Kailyn imagined that Diva was feeling much like herself….just lost her best friend. They kinda needed each other to help heal the loss of Toby. After that It was an instant connection! Diva and Kaylin make a really good team and they are having/ and will have a great future. It’s a sad beginning…but a happy ending!

Bandit

Bandit with Cassandra (his new owner)

Jessica helped Bandit’s original owner buy him as a 2 year old and helped train him. In the summer’s he resided with Eden Healing Center so he would stay in shape. When his original owner retired and moved out of state he permanently came to Eden as a lesson horse. Bandit really did not like arena riding (which at the time was what he was doing), he got adopted out to former students of Jessica’s and is at a lovely home where he can spend lots of time outdoors.

Patriot

Patriot came with 7 other horses and is a half brother to Sinatra. He is the son of Layla and Ninja. He was a yearling and was not useable in the program. He was in pretty poor health but got adopted out to a loving person who also leases Ninja!

Legend

Legend Now
Legend living his best life in his new adoptive home

Legend came with the same crew that Patriot did and is also a half brother to Sinatra. As he was the same physiological structure as most of the other program horses he was adopted out. He was in poor health but the same family that adopted Bandit decided to adopt and rehabilitate him. He now lives happily ever after with his brother Bandit!

Zeus

Zeus Shortly After Coming to Eden

Zeus is the loving brother of Hercules and the son of Mama. He preferred to be handled by one person so he got adopted out. You can read more about his rescue under horse rehab stories – the first haflinger family.

Mama

Mama

Mama is the mother of Zeus and Hercules. She was older and had arthritis in her knee so could only be used for walking (as she was not sound at the trot or canter). She could not be used in the program and got adopted out to a loving home where she is living the rest of her life as a pasture horse with lots of love and care.

Sage

Loved by Kids of all Ages

Sage is the daughter of Sky and Sterling. At the time of rescuing her she was young and therefore less experienced. As the program needed more experienced and older horses she got adopted out to a loving home.

Lassie Yearling
Lassie
Lassie is the daughter of Fiadh (FEE-ah). She was born March 1st, 2021 here at Eden Healing Center and is a spunky little girl. She is halter broke and ties to the wall. She has a current negative coggins pulled as well as her 5 way vaccine.

Lassie has been adopted but you will still see her here at Eden during the summer of 2023 as she continues her training.

Sassie Lassie is going to have a wonderful time with her new family!
