What is Recknagel lessons?
Recknagel Lessons & Leasing, is a division of Eden Healing Center.
One of the initiatives of E.H.C is to breath life back into horses that were once well cared for and well trained but have since suffered varying degrees of neglect. Once the horses have had all their medical care brought up to date, and gain weight/muscle back, they are evaluated for what level of rider they can be partnered with. They are then used for riding lessons and offered for leasing.
What do you learn when taking lessons?
Our area of expertise is teaching people that have little to no prior horse experience and creating full fledge equestrians. We have many beginner friendly horses. We teach basic english and western riding. We teach all aspects of horsemanship, not just how to ride.
Students learn how to safely retrieve their lesson horse from the pasture, how to properly tack the horse, ride the horse, undress the horse, feed the horse, and also watch farrier and veterinarian appointments (When scheduling allows).
