Layla, the mother of Patriot, is an Arabian and Quarter Horse cross who arrived at Eden Healing Center underweight and in poor health. She had been neglecting essential care, including hoof and dental work. After gaining some weight, Layla underwent retraining and was re-taught how to ride.
